Speakers:

Rick Loomis, program director of Clean Water Action and the Clean Water Fund in Allentown will discusss Pennsylvania's Pesticide Notification Act, the governor’s Growing Greener II budget; and the current federal assault on environmental protections.

Susan Gobreski, state director of the League of Conservation Voters, will speak about national and Pennsylvania environmental issues.

Songs:

The program will feature songwriter Holly Avila performing her “Blue Planet Blues,” and Silvia Brandon Perez will sing one of her own bilingual compositions.

Poetry:

The poets Maggie Martin and Denise McKellick will read selections of their work, and Ms. Brandon Perez, a two-time Pushcart Press nominee, will recite one of her poems.

Art:

Artwork and photographs will be on display, thanks to well-known area artists Jackie Berg, Rachel Val Cohen, David Coulter, Patricia A. Griffin, Patricia J. Griffin, Jim Hannan, Gary Kresge, Ed Lopez, Penny Ross, Peter Salmon, and Jim Wyckoff. These artists exhibit at local galleries as well as regionally, and many have displayed their work during Stroudsburg’s First Saturday Art Walks.

A video segment from the the television program Now with Bill Moyers will be aired as part of the program. Ode to Kyoto looks at the inner workings of a powerful lobby of energy companies at a key U.N. conference on global warming.
